The pliers broke within a single use. Loved the small form factor and the utility, but cannot give 5 stars if I can't utilize the pliers effectively. So just writing this review for those of you like me that are looking for a liteweight utility tool to take on the trail, go camping with, etc. For over a year I had flirted with the idea of buying a different brand (rhymes with Weatherman) because they offer a liteweight multi tool that comes in at around 5 ounces. I specifically like it because it has a carabiner attachment made into the design. But at a price point of $74.95 for most of the past year (2019/2020) I could not bring myself to spend the money, knowing that it could be lost on the trail. The price came down to $54.95 on Amazon, and I almost went for it, but decided to hold off. I had bought another multitool on Amazon (weighed in at 8 oz. so not horribly different from the "weatherman Hellatool", but it was only around $12 prime so that made the 3 oz difference ok. I went to the mountain outfitter that I generally like to buy local from and they had the True Utility Seven on the counter for $14.99 plus tax. I picked it up, felt great, its small, but not too small, and they were kind enough to weigh it for me. Weighs in at 3.5 ounces, (even verified on my mail/hiking gear scale at home). So all that to say this: The True Utility Seven is to me the best bang for the buck liteweight multi tool I've found yet. Knife is sharp, Philips Screwdriver "teeth" are a bit more defined than most, making it a usable tool, especially for hikers trying to save every ounce they can. Decent product, liteweight, great value.Though I mostly just used the knife and pliers, this was a great little multitool. I paid £14 for it and it lasted me well over a year, probably closer to two. Unfortunately, one of the spring spine-bar things snapped off, so the pliers no longer work and the thing does not stay in the folded-closed position. The saw, being so small, was naturally ineffective, so I've bought a new multitool without a saw. I loved the carabiner, though, which made it easy to carry and always ready to use. I recommend this one if you're on a budget, but if you want one that will last more than a few years, definitely spend a bit more money.I had previous model to this one for over a year and was very impressed with quality. I used it quite often and found very handy on key ring. I only replaced as thought I'd lost it but later found it .Clip very good for either attaching to keyring or the belt loop on jeans etc. Newer version that arrived sill feels as good as my previous modelI've bought a couple of these exact ones in the past and found them very handy for at work when I need odd tools. However I got my last one on 27th August and today (3rd October) it broke while I was fixing the casing on a lighter of all things. I've had a few of them now to know that it's, hopefully, just a one off.Husband uses this every single day. Clips easily to trousers so is on hand. Good assortment on tools which are sturdy and so usefulIt’s awful. Doesn’t stand up to the most reasonable of uses. Didn’t expect it to be as bad as it was. Do yourself a favour and spend a few extra quid to get anything other than this product!
