I read this book as part of my ongoing research into the John Kennedy assassination. I'm not sure why this book was written but John Kennedy was still alive at that time. If ever a work of fiction somehow predicted the future this is it I guess. As I learn more about the John Kennedy case I think I have an understanding of the mechanics of the assassination like how many shooters there were, how they covered it all up, etc.. But the most important questions are who wanted John Kennedy dead and why. And once the decision was made to kill him who were the architects behind the assassination. This book matches up pretty well with the John Kennedy case, at least for conspiracy believers and at a high level. This story diverges from what happened to Kennedy in important ways however. Still I feel reading this book was worthwhile as I try to understand the JFK case better. This story isn't as violent as the JFK assassination but it does include a few suspicious deaths. This story and the JFK conspiracy both involve individuals within the Military Industrial Complex who tried to decide what was good for everyone and then impose their will on everyone. The conspirators in this book are presented as being motivated by radical ideas while the JFK conspiracy involved people who were really motivated by greed and a lust for power. But perhaps the differences between those two types of motivations aren't as great as we might think. The truth often turns out to be stranger than fiction ever could be. If this book is the fiction side and the John Kennedy assassination is the reality I would say that old saying is true in this case.
