I loved this book as a kid, and recently got it for my nephew after not having read it for 25+ years. Let me tell you, it more than holds up. The story is charming; the illustrations are intricate and delightful; the cadence of the narrative poem is perfect. Since the rhythm is so good, it works for littles, but definitely works for older kids, so fun to read as a family.
