Although I don’t stick to one main genre or sub genre within Erotica, I normally don’t stray into New Adult territory very often. Rarely, I would say. However, not only did I dare to give this a go, I loved it.Surprising? Somewhat. This is not your normal Ker Dukey Book, at least not the ones I have read. Such a brilliant Author, it is no surprise that she was set with the task of developing both the series foundation and a tightly written love story within.Knowing the Authors that come next in this interconnected series, the bar has been set. I have a feeling this story may become more depraved as it progresses. Maybe that’s wishful thinking? It is of my opinion that Dukey had a very hard job going first, in what very well may be a superb series, by a set of tremendously talented Authors. The basis for this series is quite appealing to me. Although the are many other books or series having something to do with the “Seven Deadly Sins”; this is a new take, something we’ve not experienced before. Certainly not with Seven Authors writing on the heels of one another. This could be a unique masterpiece saga in the making.Creating both the backdrop and beginning of the story of this crop of the Elite Seven, Ker Dukey craftfully intertwined the love story of Rhett and Chastity.Having the title and sin of Lust, I expected a much different plot line. That’s why I am not an Author. Dukey rocked this book by creating Rhett Masters, a flawed character, whose rough start in life would cause negative ripple effects throughout his adolescence and into young adulthood. He certainly lives a playboy lifestyle; yet has issues surrounding the very sin he personifies. Who would have guessed? Well played, Ms. Dukey.Although I would have liked to feel a bit more connected to Chastity, the backstory of Rhett seemed to pull my heart strings. The angst was there, the tissues in my hand a bit wet, as pages turned. Guilt can be such a beast of its own; and it had such a dramatic impact on Rhett’s everyday abilities to think and function normally.I am enthralled by the basis of the series, and I look forward to the next books. I can’t wait to see what is around the corner, learn more about the others within this secret society, and how the series flows and progresses from book to book, author to author. None of that would be possible without a great start, and Dukey has provided that. This was voluntarily guest reviewed for LipSmakin’ GoodBooks Blog and Promotion, at my expense, for my pleasure.**A larger part of my new rating/review system simply reflects my personal enjoyment of any story. Other criteria is considered, of course.
